Lincoln Westby
Head Fly Fishing Guide & Permit Master
Legendary Belizean Fly Fishing Guide and founder of the historic Blue Horizon Lodge off the coast of central Belize Lincoln began his career guiding fly fishermen and women in 1971. Lincoln is considered the utmost authority on fly-fishing for Permit along with all other species found here on the flats in Belize. Over the years Lincoln has successfully guided anglers from all around the globe in pursuits of the elusive Permit on the fly. He is directly responsible for over 2000 Permit landed.
When Lincoln is not guiding anglers he is helping to forge conservation efforts to protect Permit, Tarpon, Bonefish and their respective habitats and resources. Lincoln also serves, as a commissioner on the Belize Tour Guides Association and is solely responsible for finalizing a new curriculum designed specifically for the certification of fly fishing guides.
Marlon Leslie

Marlon’s enthusiasm is evident from the moment you meet him. Marlon has been guiding anglers of all levels of experience through the flats of central Belize from a young age. The son of the legendary fly fishing guide Charlie Leslie, Sr. Marlon literally grew up in the business and always delivers an exciting day on the flats. He is one of the top requested guides on our team, because his charisma is contagious.

Charles Leslie Sr. lives near the village of Placencia in the Stann Creek District of Belize. He began his guiding career at the age of nineteen and has 40 years of experience fishing the waters of Belize. He has wet a line and guided anglers in nearly all reaches of Belize, and has earned the reputation as one of the most knowledgeable and respected guides in the country. He is the founder of Tarpon Caye Lodge, a long standing operation near Placencia. In 2017, Charlie and his partners had an opportunity to past on the tradition of TCL to new owners. After a short stint with ‘retirement’, Charlie’s desire to be on the water led him to Blue Horizon. His vast experience and intimate knowledge of permit were welcomed with open arms. Charlie adds a lot of value to our robust team of fishing guides. He is a continuous educator, who believes you’re never too old to keep learning. He will help you master the techniques of fly fishing in saltwater.
Steve Cabral
The Cabral family has a deep and lasting tradition in the sport fishing community in Belize. Steve’s roots as a commercial angler gave him an unique perspective on where to find bonefish, permit, tarpon, and anything else that swims. He is at home on the flats and knows the region like the back of his hand. His work ethic is unmatched and his well manner disposition makes him the perfect guide. Nearly 20 years ago, Lincoln Westby recognized Steve’s talents and trained him to be a fly fishing guide for Blue Horizon Fly Fishing.
